It’s small things that can keep the dark away,
The little deeds of ordinary folk.
A gentle light that shines through every day,
In simple tasks, where hope’s soft embers stoke.
Yet now, these acts seem fewer, far between,
For people are caught up in their own minds,
Unseeing all the beauty that has been—
The majesty the watching world still finds.
They rush ahead, too busy to reflect,
On moments rich with kindness or with grace.
But in those deeds, there’s more than we expect,
A brighter world, found in each heartfelt trace.
So let us not forget these sparks of light,
For even small flames help dispel the night.
